How we are paid
Our Service Proposition & Advice Costs
Our initial meeting with you is at 'our cost', and at no obligation to you.
We have made our charging structure fair, transparent and unbiased. Our initial advice and ongoing service charges are capped providing a simple, straight forward and easy to understand pricing structure dependent on the type of service you require.
Our advice costs can be paid for either by way of a fee directly from you or, alternatively, they can be taken via product charges and paid to us via the product provider, if a product is transacted at the end of the advice process.
Either way, we will agree this before we start work.
Fees
If you would like us to work on a fee basis, this can either be via an agreed fixed fee, or time costed approach. Rates are dependant on the complexity of the work involved, and we will confirm the rate we will charge before commencing any work. Fees may attract an additional VAT charge.
All fees are payable on completion of the work. Where additional charges may apply in complex cases, these will be agreed with you beforehand.
Commission
If you wish for us to work on a commission basis, you will not have to pay us a fee for advice, instead we will receive commission. We will always tell you about any commission we earn, before you agree to proceed with our advice and recommendations. Working on a commission basis does not mean that our services are free. In reality the product provider reclaims this commission via making deductions from your plan over a period of time.
Fees and Commissions
As an alternative you can pay us by a combination of the above two methods, and we will discuss this option with you if you wish.
We may derive commisssion income from some investments under review. Where this is the case, income can be off-set against initial and ongoing advice costs.
Paying for services - Insurance
If you buy a non-investment insurance contract we will normally receive commission on the sale from the product provider. However this commission can be waived and a client advice fee charged instead, which could reduce the premiums paid under the insurance contract, which may be more cost effective over the term of the contract. This option will be discussed with you.
